  1. Along with blood sampling for ordinal laboratory tests, we measured fibrinogen concentration using a portable fibrinogen measuring device at the point of care. A laboratory-based test later showed that her plasma fibrinogen level prior to the operation was 243 mg/dL, which matched very well to the result of the portable device. The laboratory-based test showed low platelets and hemoglobin. We started to transfuse platelets and PRBCs before the operation.
